Your vote counts – Penge Hustings

The next meeting of Penge Forum, on Tuesday 24th April, will be a hustings meeting for the local elections for Bromley Council in May.
There are three wards which include parts of Penge – Penge and Cator, Crystal Palace and part of Clock House.  Penge Forum have invited one candidate from each party to attend the meeting to answer questions about Council policy and what they hope to be able to do to help residents of Penge.
So, questions which could be put to them include:
  • What can they do about complaints regarding street cleaning and refuse collection?
  • How can they support improvements to our High Street?
  • Does Penge get a fair deal from Bromley Council?
  • What are they proposing to do to make Penge a safer place and to reduce crime?
  • Why do our children have such a restricted choice for secondary schools?
  • What are their polices for a reducing air pollution or traffic congestion in Penge?
There are sure to be lots more.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday May 24th at Melvin Hall, Melvin Road, SE29 8EU. There is some parking in Melvin Road and buses 75, 356, 358 and 197 all stop nearby in Croydon Road.  Doors open for free refreshments from 7.00pm and the hustings will start at 7.30pm.
Questions will have to be submitted in advance so they can be grouped by topic.  If you have a question you wish to put, please respond to wendieroche@gmail.com or be ready to submit your question on the evening.
