Meet outside the Moon and Stars on Penge High Street at 10.30am. Chris O’Shaughnessy will lead you on a conducted tour of the houses where the famous writer lived and wrote from 1899 to 1925. We get to go into two of them, seeing where he wrote some of his best work. De la Mare was the only person apart from Winston Churchill to be awarded the Order of Merit and the Companion of Honour. The Listeners was once judged Britain’s favourite poem. A free walk with refreshments at the end in the last house.
