Penge’s Men in Sheds are a regular presence at local events, selling lovely handcrafted nick nacks, usually created from old re-purposed wood, at ridiculously cheap prices. But what is Men in Sheds?

The Men’s Shed concept brings together older men in a space with which they are comfortable. They can socialise and carry out activities that bring benefit to the local community and charities. Men can meet up to use their existing skills, learn new skills, share ideas or just put the world to rights over a cup of tea. It’s about friendship, fun and getting out.

Men In Sheds Penge was set up in 2014 and mainly a wood workshop, with commissions ranging from a santa sleigh, a full sized Tardis, elephants, reindeer, planters and benches. Members can work together on the various commissions, work on their own projects or just drink a cuppa and put the world to rights.

The Penge shed is at Kingsdale House, Kingsdale Road, SE20 7PR and is open Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 till 15:30, while Thursday is Women in Sheds day.
