There is no set theme for the competition. As it says in Rule 1, ‘Any subject or style may be chosen’. We’re looking for original imaginative poems on any theme or subject. This, we hope, gives greater creative freedom to the poet. There does not have to be a connection with Penge. If the poems read well aloud, that’s a bonus as winners will be asked to read their poems before a live audience at the presentation evening on June 17 after the talk ‘Walter de la Mare’s Ghosts and Demons’. We look forward to receiving your entry.
